We use a typical Mediterranean fabric known as “Tela de llengües”. It is a traditional fabric that is patterned on both sides. A woven fabric made from natural fibers such as cotton, linen or wool.

Tela de Llengües have a long history and tradition in Mallorca, dating back to the 16th century. It was originally used to make clothing for farmers and peasants. One of the unique features of this special canvas is that the pattern is reversible, which means that it looks the same on both sides. This is achieved by using a special weaving technique called “double-sided weaving” or “tissage réversible “. Today the fabric is still produced in Mallorca from family-owned manufacturers which we proudly call our partners. “Tela de llengües” is a cherished part of the island’s cultural heritage, which we intend to preserve and to protect with our MARIONAS.
